Richard became a lawyer in1988, and was Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law [by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization] in 2005.
Richard attended law school at St. Mary’s University, School of Law in San Antonio Texas and graduated in 1988; He attended undergraduate school at the University of Houston and graduated with BBA in business in 1985.
Since 1988 Richard has tried injury and trucking cases to jury verdict across Texas in state and federal court. These trials involved 18-wheeler wrecks, cement-truck crashes, car wrecks, dangerous equipment, dangerous machines, injured necks and backs, broken bones, whiplash injuries, head injuries, concussion injuries, brain injuries, amputations, wrongful-death claims, insurance claims (First and Third Party) and dangerous products that caused injuries.
Prior to becoming a full-time trial lawyer Richard served as regional, corporate, and in-house counsel for businesses including a national trucking company and an international produce company, and was often hired by insurance carriers to defend their clients.
Richard is an admitted member of the State Bar of Texas as well as the Insurance and Litigation Sections, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
Richard was born and reared in Edinburg, Texas, and is a proud Dad of three. When not at his desk Richard enjoys golf, deer-hunting, fishing, and reading.
